RNA Energy Corporation Breaks Ground on 50 MW Solar Power Plant in Polanco

POLANCO, Zamboanga del Norte — RNA Energy Corporation officially broke ground today on its flagship 50-megawatt (MW) solar power plant, marking the company’s first utility-scale solar facility and a major leap forward for the clean energy transition in the region.

The ceremonial groundbreaking event was attended by Polanco Mayor Ying Uy and other local government officials, Engr. Rodulfo Hilot Jr., President and CEO of RNA Energy Corporation and his corporate executives, energy sector stakeholders, and community representatives.

Powering the Future with Clean Infrastructure

Sprawling across a multi-hectare site in Polanco, the ₱2.5-billion project is designed to capture high solar irradiance in the area to supply zero-emission power directly into the regional transmission grid. Once operational, the plant is projected to generate over 75 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually—enough to power approximately 45,000 households while avoiding over 50,000 metric tons of carbon emissions each year.

The facility will feature high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) modules mounted on single-axis tracking technology, optimizing energy yield throughout the day.
